I understand that some of us want to be casted as by people as the hero of the night, but that can't happen in reality. Most people are not casted as the hero of then night, but like you and me as the person sipping his/her coffee in the background. We have an ensemble's or an extra's roles more so than the lead's important roles in the world. Chances are too, that the person casted as the hero of the night wished that he/she was the person sipping the coffee. I understand also that we can be casted as awful villianous characters by people too, well... So what? Someone has to be the bad guy in this world, and no I don't mean go out and accept yourself for being reckless... But think about it? What would this world be like if there was no devil's advocates giving a second different opinion? To me, there would be no growth, and we would still be cavemen.

Yes it can.
This past March, one of my mixed-media paintings won a Best of Show award.
On opening reception night, I was given a microphone and asked to explain
how I was able to create the painting.

Now does this happen every day?
Of course not.

Anyways, I say "Go for your dreams"
and don't be discouraged by anyone who claims you can't.

Yes! That's what I meant! Don't be discouraged by anyone who claims you can't! :)

I hope there isn't a completely different discouraging meaning to what I wrote right? I may need someone to reflect back to me what I wrote.

Thank you for clarifying, now I better understand you! :)

You inferred that most of us are sipping coffee in the background. You actually said it.
