I just want to be clear on one thing. I joined on November 23rd, 2006, but November 23rd this year is of course Thanksgiving, so I decided a few days prior to now to celebrate early.

Now before you ask as to why I'm celebrating early, this is because I am going to be with my family for Thanksgiving, so I will not be posting for the next few days.

Even though I sometimes still wonder how different of a person I would be now had I not found Wrong Planet on that fateful day in 2006, I'm thankful that Wrong Planet has helped me change my perspective of not only how people see me just because I am on The Spectrum, but also how I should view people who are also on The Spectrum who struggle with accepting the fact they will carry something they should accept.

If you struggle with accepting your ASD diagnosis, remember that your ASD diagnosis is not a lie. Of course it will be a slow process to accept it, but remember to keep in mind that if people see you as inferior just because you are on The Spectrum, it is not your problem, but theirs. Such people are just insensitive and will see you as a easy target for anything that could make your life hard.

Happy anniversary. I'm glad you found this place. This forum helped me out alot too & I know my life would be pretty different if I hadn't found this place.

May you have at least another 11 more years on wrong planet and enjoy the holiday.
