Vikings

Trolls

The Swedish Chef.

Fjords

Lutefisk, which is a Norwegian jelly-like food made by marinating codfish in lye. Marinating it for too long can cause the fat in the fish to turn into soap. Yum? :eew: It's actually eaten more in the US than in Scandinavian countries, however. It's even eaten in Canada, mostly Western Canada because it has a fairly large Scandinavian population.

Cheese and dairy products.

Danish pastries, or just danishes as we normally call them here.

Surstromming, which is herring fermented in cans. The cans are normally opened outdoors because of the horrific stench, and the pressurized gas inside the cans can cause them to explode. The only reason I think anyone in their right mind would eat this is so they could brag about it afterwards. If they lived. :skull:

Reindeer

Hans Christian Anderson, and his fairy tales such as The Little Mermaid, The Emperor's New Clothes, and The Snow Queen. In Denmark they made a statue of The Little Mermaid to honor him.

Thomas Dam, the creator of troll dolls. He originally carved one out of wood and used sheep's wool for hair to give to his daughter for a Christmas present, and soon other kids wanted one too, and so began what was eventually to become my biggest 90's toy obsession.

I feel safe.

I get taken care of by the system if I fail and then get help to get back up.

^ then you have been luckier in the system than I have!

too many prohibitions and too much of the punishment rather than carrot attitude (laws, politics, rather make unhealthy things expensive than healthy things cheaper)
