I was a small child in the 1980's so that was the first music I had exposure to. Now I find some of it quite dreadful. I guess tastes can change. I really don't like the majority of Pop Rock styles that dominated the Era. I do like George Strait and some 80's C &W

You actually posted this on my 26th birthday. What a coincidence. Anyhoo, I enjoy a pretty wide variety of music from the 90s on forward, but also 80s and 70s music too. Some of my favorite classic bands/artists would have to be Journey, U2, Michael Jackson, Poison, Def Leppard, KISS, the list goes on. I think a huge part of that was that I grew up listening to a lot of my dad's music which gave me the vast mental library of music that I have today.

The first three-years of 1980s music (SEE LINKS) resonated a-lot more than the last seven years of the 1980s. As I remember, I felt that the first three years of the 1980s somehow complemented the last-half of the 1970s music-wise.

I had almost exclusively listened-to 1980s music on Los-Angeles Area radio; hence I may have related 1980s music with 1970s, and earlier music based on what was played on the radio in the 1980s.

What is it that happened to music after 1982??

Did you listen to KROQ? I ask because I like that type of 80's music and I recently finished reading Richard Blade's autobiography.

A thread on 80s music that hasn't mentioned thrash metal yet? 8O

I like a lot of 80s. I was born in 82 but I also like 70s so I don't feel like it's that usual for someone who's 20 to like 80s. stuff
