Does this fit with others'e experiences? I'm kind of having trouble understanding how some people can drink several cups of coffee per day without adverse effects, because that's so different to my own experience. If you're one of those people, how is your reaction to other drugs and medications?

I can't do alcohol or sedatives. They either completely knock me out from a very small amount, or they give me anxiety attacks. If I have to take something like benedryl, I take kids version and an infant dosage. I try to do most medicine as herbal tea because it's much more subtle.

There's a lot to be said for that. In Chinese medicine, they use various mixtures of roots/herbs/bark/fungi (and even black ants) and brew it like a tea. Whatever they put in, it always seems to turn out black and horribly bitter (but I think that's how medicine is supposed to taste). Apparently these brews can be very effective.

And in breaking news:
This morning, it being Monday and me being bleary-eyed and in desperate need, I hit on a wonderful idea for an experiment.
Observation of restlessness (self-reported as "the jitters") about two hours after drinking a certain caffeine-containing brew (said response being independently verified by a colleague), and I conclude my experiment to have been a resounding success.

Guess I have a will-power short-fall

I only observed myself being jittery once I had a child and realized that after more than one cup I would lose my patience with her for no reason. Oops, I wonder who else I've lost it to because of coffee and not seen it.

Three big cups of coffee each day seems to be my optimum dosage. :)

I drink coffee and have no issues with it at all. Nor do I have an addiction. If there is no coffee at my place then I'm fine. I can drink water and juice instead or nothing at all. I don't desperately crave the caffeine and I drink coffee whenever I feel in the mood for it.

I just never developed a taste for coffee.

Maybe this is related to the fact that I never got wisdom teeth.

Maybe I'll be a kid forever :P

I was the same until a year ago; my wisdom teeth never came through, either.
Ha, now you mention it, I actually had a tooth extracted this year, around the time I was getting addicted to coffee. Evidence of getting old? So maybe I'm finally growing up after all

I love it. I usually put a lot of creamer or milk in it, though. I've done this since I was little.

Question is can you handle my coffee? I like the blackest black of the brew prepared, with no sugar or any-other crap. Yet seems no one can make it that strong...please find me extra strong coffee.

Ever tried a sludge cup? It's black coffee with espresso shots poured in. It's like coffee on steroids.

I love the taste but if I have more than a sip my heart rate goes wild and I can't get calmed for a few hours. Cappuccino is OK, it's mostly cream.
