You're Katherine Hepburn, without the hauteur

It's sort of a paradox that Hepburn had the hauteur, while also coming across as one with Yankee common sense.

Kinda strange... both you and Blabster have compared me to her, and the weird thing is that I actually do look like her. When I was a young woman the resemblance was very marked - total strangers (men, women, young, older) commented on it, pretty much anywhere and everywhere. Most of them had no "agenda" that I could detect; they were just remarking. I took it as a high compliment and would always say so.

(I don't sound like her at all; I have a fairly deep voice.)

Now that I'm old(er), I don't hear this as often as I did. So it's quite interesting to come across it here, where nobody can actually see me (although my avatar - which is not a portrait at all! - is very close to how I hope to look in another 10 years.

Strange days.

There is a sort of common-sensicalness to you. But which is not as abrasive as that which was found within Katherine herself.

One of my favorite jokes is when somebody made a bet that he could make Calvin Coolidge utter three words.

Coolidge was informed of the bet, and was asked to comment.

The mods have moved this thread into the Haven at my request, and with Kura's OK.

This way, anyone and everyone posting here will be able to give and receive positive thoughts and words, because that's the focus and the purpose of the Haven. That's my strong hope from here forward . Hospitality, extended to all, in kindness. With that as the focus, there should be no concerns.
