It's the type of woman I usually prefer.

I'm at the bookish end of tomboy. I like to be out in the fresh air in nature, but I don't do anything daring in it. I've got lip gloss for everyday, and add mascara, and nail varnish, for special. I love my jeans and my trainers, and I don't own a single pair of shoes, but my jumpers have to be fitted, not baggy, and of very soft material. I like to move about but I was rubbish at all sports. I do not want to look at anyone's wedding album or video, ever, and when I see babies with accessories in their hair I feel sorry for them and think they must be uncomfortable, as well as looking stupid.

It’s a very outdated label I guess, it existed in a time when even wearing pants was considered a boy thing.

In our generation, I think only the very extreme cases of boyish-like girls would be called tomboys; like not having any apparent girly trait.
A girl for example who is into sport wear and video games yet puts makeup and wears dresses on occasions - is *not* a tomboy.

Personally I know no tomboy of my generation - as is if they only exist in movies and books. It is just a thing from the past.

Becky, from "Tom Sawyer," might be considered a tomboy----though she wore dresses and had other feminine traits.

Annie Oakley was more extreme. Perhaps even beyond the term "tomboy."

You live in California, not in Japan.

I'm not really a "tomboy."

I'm more of an effeminate male nerd trapped in a woman's body.

I don't consider myself a tomboy. I play video games and wear men's t-shirts sometimes but I still wear makeup but traditional and ladylike activities don't appeal to me.

I am cisfemale. I'm just not a stereotypical female. Dinner dates aren't my cup of tea. I want my dates to be an arcade, art museum and hanging out and watching anime. Bookstores work too.

My kinda girl!
Flirting aside i agree with the earlier statement it is an outdated term. It could use an overhaul.
