Not bad exactly, it's like a woman calling a man safe or cute. They're basically saying 'well you won't give me any trouble' and immediately I feel like being a lot of trouble.

not bad but everyone has a darker side and when you do your best to be nice most of the time (as I'm sure you do) I think it's very unfair that that very effort leads people to feel you have no right to ever be anything else but nice.
