Ayn Rand - Love is Selfish
Time for something a little less angst worthy...
I watched: "Shrek Forever After" yesterday...
I was very surprised by something in particular...
I suspect, very heavily, that there was an Ayn Rand "perfect man" reference...
Though it wasn't a perfect man in the movie, it was the perfect Ogre, Shrek...
Das ist Shreklich!...
And that wasn't the only "suspicious" element alluding to Rand's philosophy...
I will have to re-watch the movie and get back to you if I have the psychological energy...
Once may be a coincidence/aberration...
Twice is the beginning of a pattern...
If I am correct, it would seem to be a cheeky in joke by Mike Myers...
Yeah baby!...

Jawohl!...
I mean...
Yeah, baby...
Something Nietzsche might have said...
Rand was apparently heavily influenced by him, which everyone here but me seemed to have known already for some time...<sigh>
And so too, if I am correct, was Mike Myers aware of Rand's "Superman"...
Cheeky bugger...

I believe Leonard Peikoff stated that when Ayn Rand wrote Atlas Shrugged that she had gotten rid of any remaining Nietzsche influence.

Randian hyper-capitalism cannot work. I'm not just saying this because <snip>....
This is a great post, whether I agree or not, because it is something that can be discussed. It deserves a good response, but I am not mentally able to provide one at the moment and that is why I have not responded. I did not want you to feel that your post was ignored.
