Did you ever follow the Seattle Pilots?

I never had the sports genes but I remember back in the day on KIRO radio, references to the team.

They only lasted one year. Then they became the Milwaukee Brewers. I missed them, for some reason.

Jim Bouton wrote about his time on the Seattle Pilots in the book "Ball Four."

I bet you were always into gadgets and such. The Road Runner was good for that.

To be honest, I wasn't that much into gadgets. I was more into the "pop culture," in some respects.

I sense you were into ham radio, too. I think I would have found it cool had I known somebody who was into it.

Me and this girl once listened to the cops on walkie-talkies. That was so cool.

She was a feminine girl--but cool, too---like "one of the guys."

I used to want to be a trucker so I could talk to girls on the CB, and meet them at a truck stop.

^^^do you remember the TV show "Movin' On"? on NBC, forgot what night. it was about a pair of "Gypso" [independent] truckers, a trucker soap opera.

It's weird----because I have no memory of that show.

I used to like "What's Happenin'" quite a bit. I wanted to be like "Rog."

I watched it like clockwork. never saw "what's happenin'" because it was on CBS, and the local CBS affiliate [KIRO-7] hadn't any reception in my neck of the woods.

In terms of where I’ve lived, I’ve never left New York City.

I’ve been to parts of Europe, some of the Western Hemisphere north of 9 degrees north latitude, and Hawaii.
