Do penises rape people?

Do pencils misspell?

Do spoons make people fat?

Do belts give spankings?

Do cars drive drunk?

Do matches commit arson?

Do shoes kick people?

Nope....PEOPLE do all these things......

Those things are caused by people.

So why do we blame the object, if it’s a people problem?

i find it funny...that there is a common word for what these things are, and for the people who believe that OPs claims are true.

"tool".

So both the object and the people are tools

I think the saying goes "It's the tool with the tool that's the problem." which is why guns should be kept away from tools

Let's dispense with the disingenuous pretense that guns are merely precision metalsmithed artworks for the discerning collector. Symbols of precious freedom.

Guns are weapons, intended for one and only one use. To kill.

And the guns currently favored by our Messrs. Paddock and Cruz and their emulators are specifically designed to kill as many people as possible, as rapidly as possible. That is their entire purpose.

Gun rights advocates need to stop carrying on about how people can choke to death on tapioca pudding, or trip over their own shoelaces and fall and break their necks, and nobody wants to outlaw tapioca or shoelaces do they?

Because if the tapioca is poisoned, or the shoelaces are deliberately replaced with razor wire, you bet your butt that's outlawed. And that's what it would take to make either one even remotely as murderous-by-design as a gun.
