Oh yes, I do, alright. I even imagine characters to have specific types of voices and read their lines in those voices when I read books (which is a rare occurrence).

When I'm reading anyone's FB posts, I read it in their voice in my head. I know most of their voices in real life, so it's automatic.

That happens occasionally only for me, especially for some reason when reading those of one of my aunts.

For all the "regulars," who's posts I read here, my brain has assigned a "voice," to and I read many posts in the voice of each forum personality as if they're a book or movie character or something.

No, I don't read posts in voices at all.

I'm an auditory thinker but I don't hear other's voices when I read

having been taught "speed reading" the first thing they teach you is to silence the inner voice, as it slows down word uptake. so my words that I read, for the most part, are silent. sometimes a whispery ghost machine voice slips in.

Good tip. Never heard that before. Just tried it for a moment. I think with practice I could read some things a lot quicker. Hmm, maybe there's something to this speed reading.. did you take a class or read a book about it? It might come in really handy.

it was a quickie minicourse in college. but it often reminded me of woody allen's observation about speed reading, "I took a speed-reading course and read War and Peace in twenty minutes. It involves Russia."

Usually either silent or a machine like voice (in my head).

I only ‘hear’ voices when I’m writing. It’s like someone is dictating the story to me as I’m typing. I hear the characters’ voices in the dialogue sections.

If a character yawns, so will I.

^^^ that is very interesting. I wonder if the bulk of professional writers are the same way?

I vaguely recall this topic coming up on the Amazon authors discussion page. I don’t know if this method is very common, but I don’t remember thinking I was unusual.
