My GF asked me if I wanted a pizza and I said yes. I thought she had starting cooking it but when I left the room she said "put the pizza in the oven, it's all ready for you".

I went into the kitchen and she had removed the boxed frozen pizza from the freezer and left it on the counter. This to me is not 'all ready' , the box has to be opened and the pizza has to be removed from the cellophane and placed on a baking tray.

It was no major issue but it irks me that we have different meanings of 'all ready' or maybe it's because I was expecting one thing and it was something else or is my GF right and I am just a pendantic tw*t

I dunno, that kinda seems like a poor attempt at doing a good deed -- unless your freezer is so jam-packed full of stuff that you have to dig out what you want, then pulling a box out is hardly an effort.

HOWEVER, she was not under any obligation to do anything in the first place. Unless she specifically stated what she was going to do and gave you her word that she would do so, she entered no agreement and thus it was not her responsibility to do anything.

I guess tl;dr would be yes without the expletive, because obviously you weren't doing it with any ill intention in mind.

That does sound off-putting.

Does she usually cook the pizza?
Seems like she's hinting that you're not pulling your weight.
My partner does things like that when I'm distracted and not listening.

Put it back in the freezer and order one, when it shows up. Grab it and show it to her, this is ready.

@SentientPotato - yeah I think you're right - bugger :roll:

@ZZZTired - it's not her worse crime

@Raleigh - No , I'm the main food warmer upper since she said I was not pulling my weight a while back. She doesn't do hints as she knows they fly over my head.

@SH90 - I'm too tight to order takeout pizza but it would be funny to do that until I had to duck under a flying pizza hurled at my head :lol:

Obviously, it's only "ready" once the pizza got cooked.

Maybe she meant it's "ready" to be put in the oven.

If you are the main food warmer, then the definition of "It's all ready" is it's ready to be warmed.

I must say that I only think something is "ready" when it's "ready" to be eaten.

But...if my wife thinks differently, then I'll have to accept her take on it.

My mistake for not putting it in context.

I can't see how anyone would find that to be "ready", in any manner.

Perhaps she was joking? Or being sarcastic? It's the only options that make sense to me.
