In his speech, LaPierre says a lot of crazy things, but, in my personal opinion, the worst part of his speech is the part where he calls modern Democrats "unpatriotic" for embracing "European-style socialism".

This demonstrates that Wayne LaPierre either knows nothing about history (which is very bad for anyone who is in politics) of is being deliberately deceptive (which is even worse).

Throughout history, countries have copied each other all the time. The Minoans copied when they liked about the Middle East. The Greeks copied what was working in Egypt. The Romans copied the Greeks and the Etruscans. I could go on like this all day.

Europe used to have absolute monarchy. What do you think happened to that? The people of Europe saw that American democracy, despite its many flaws, was superior to total authoritarianism and so they copied it.

... and now the Europeans are doing something right that Americans should imitate. Is that "unpatriotic"? I hope it is, because patriotism is cancer.

i wouldn't be surprised if there were people like lapierre in those european nations, who said similar things to their own countrymen when they wanted change.

Want to guess whether guns are permitted in the CPAC convention while attending this very speech?

^^ Course not. They're banned at the Republican National Convention, too, and in the Capitol, and at Republican town hall meetings - when the lords and masters condescend to hold those.

Hypocrisy doesn't even begin to describe these people.

The schools force troubled, bullied, abused kids into those schools year after year.

They even drug kids if they don't behave.

If you're gonna do that to someone, then my advice to the principal/teachers ....you better arm yourself.

European countries are not one blob, We (UK) didn't have an absolute monarchy by the time America became a very limited democracy. Our move towards democracy had been going on for centuries. That a monarch has no rights not given to them by Parliament and that Parliament has no right to rule against the wishes of the people are in 'The Bill of Rights' signed in 1688.

No, we were all to busy watching the f**k up happening in France. American democracy? You mean your particular brand of democracy? How are you defining that?
