FACT: You don't need to put gay characters in a superhero movie in order to make it gay. Superheroes have always been gay.

Uhh what the f**k....like some people cannot be happy with anything. It does piss me off because I am a liberal I am on the left...but some of the behavior of others claiming to be on the left does bother me. Like I don't understand what there is to complain about this movie. Like I just feel like some of these people who say they are on the left, are really misrepresenting the whole. I mean what is it about, wanting what is right for the people, or wanting an existence where you live in a bubble and anything that disagrees with your preferences is a crime against humanity.


How is Black Panther not diversive enough, because they didn't throw in a gay character? yeah because clearly simply not representing a gay character in a movie is discrimination? So yeah I think just like there are some really stupid people on the right there are certainly people on the left that are out of their minds.

Having every discriminated against group represented in a movie would make for a very confusing movie.

A movie such as that will hurt the cause of diversity because it become the laughing stock of movies.

Black Panther and Luke Cage feed white Americans normalised view that black people live in a black universe
Luke Cage's Harlem is black...characters are black...same with Black Panther

It perpetuates an outdated view that blacks live in the own country, their own neighborhoods and have their own superheroes who fight only for black people

I met a Chinese gentleman recently who actually believes each race dies they go to different places, it appears in Marvel's universe there is a black heaven where blacks go as well

Meh, whatever! I think if they did throw that in there, even if it was in some of the comic books, that it'd distract from the rest of the movie as it'd be trying too hard to be everything to everyone. I like how they left it as it is. It's a WAY better "black movie," this way instead of having a lesbian romance subplot distracting from the main racial issues being addressed. Save the lady kisses for a sequel.

I just realised something. Before superheroes existed, people told stories about heroic strongmen like Gilgamesh and Heracles.

Those stories were also riddled with homosexual undertones.

In other words, superheroes were gay before "superhero" was even a word.

I think that Black Panther is a very deserving movie. I'd go and see it if I had the money to do so.

Protesting seems to be a hallmark of liberalism. If all the actors/characters were of color and gay, then the protest would be lack of trans. If it had trans also, then the complaint would be lack of little people and so on.
