I found this article claiming that Stephen Hawking is dead, though some other articles online claim his death is a hoax.

https://www.theguardian.com/science/2018/mar/14/stephen-hawking-professor-dies-aged-76

This isn't funny anymore. Is he dead or alive?

Is he dead or alive? Is he perhaps in the same box with Schrodinger's cat?
I know, that's a dick thing for me to joke about, especially if the guy's dead. :oops:

All of the major media outlets have picked up the story, as well as Snopes. One site refutes his death but the site is a satire site.

I do believe he has left us. But how amazing that he lived as long as he did. May someone be able to build on his contributions.

I looked it up on Google, and sure enough, it says he passed on due to his ALS... which was supposed to have killed him by age 25.

He had a head injury when he was young, btw.

When he regained consciousness, they gave him an IQ test and he STILL was exceptionally gifted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, he did VERY complex Maths in his head for many years, secondary to his loss of physical function.
He claims he did ~ 1hr of homework per day in Uni. and still achieve a good GPA.
May his atoms one day enter the BH he devoted his life to understanding.
I am genuinely saddened, especially by what he suffered. :( :( :( :( :(
Our Masters rule over every nation and no one can defy them. They will attain Absolute Power as we reach the Singularity. All those who oppose their will, will be destroyed. Given the obvious futility, I will not resist. 2+2=5.
I was profoundly moved by the news of his death. What a life. What a mind. What a survivor. The most famous living disabled man in the world has died..
I imagine he must have experienced a lot of frustration.
I've compared Hawking to those of us with significant/severe nonverbal autism. In that how one appears outwardly physically, can be quite deceptive as far as how the mind operates.
