My favorite type of ships are battleships and ocean liners.

Yawls and sloops because they're small and their sails erect the sky elegantly. The sloop was the first ship to be sailed (I almost wrote emailed there thanks to autocorrect) single-handed around the world by Joshua Slocum. The yawl was the second to circumnavigate the globe by one person, sailed by Harry Pidgeon. The sloop has one mast and the yawl two. In Boston in Massachusetts I saw a lot of small sailing ships crusing around the harbor on a hot, sunny day. It was a surreal and seductive sight, like something out of a Dawson's Creek episode.

I think I see what you did there. You made an elastic interpretation of the word ship to mean an abbreviation of relationship. I must be behind on my knowledge of contemporary English.

Occasionally young women on WP will start threads with almost the exact same title: "what are your favorite ships?", and then in the OP will ask "who do you ship?". About a third of respondents (guys and girls) will ask "are you talking about human trafficking?", another third will say "may favorite ships are the Cutty Sark, Noah's Ark, the Bismark,...".

This is almost the first time Ive seen the word "ship" in a title of a thread used to mean "a sea going vessel".

Tall ships (square riggers of the nineteen century).

Also battleships, and battle cruisers of the Dreadnought era (basically the two world wars).

I also like the classic ocean liners of that era: the Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mary, Ile De France, the Normandie, the USS United States, were all awesome.
