I liked Christmas the most as a kid because I got off from skewl for two weeks & presents. I don't really care for any holidays nowadays thou. I don't really celebrate & I don't get much now that I'm an adult. I think holidays are too commercialized too. I worked 3 Christmases at WalMart & it made me like holidays even less.

Halloween mostly because I tired of Christmas. I did actually kind of like Christmas just as a time to visit family, but it has engulfed Thanksgiving and become a 2 month celebration. Probably the only reason Christmas doesn't become bigger is it can't really combine with something like Halloween.

Now aside from that, I do enjoy Horror and I make it an extra point to enjoy horror fiction and films or discuss Classic Horror or authors like Lovecraft and Poe. Last Fall, I made it a point to watch the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre which is an older horror film I had never seen before despite Leatherface being such an iconic horror character. I'm glad I saw it, it was really different.

I was also trying to promote horror while still on Facebook, but didn't get much response from my boring relatives. Oh well, their loss.

I have also enjoyed having the occasional Oktoberfest seasonal beer, hot apple cider, or other Fall seasonal foods.

Also, while I try to not indulge to much in candy, I do really enjoy Reese's once in a while.

Christmas. Presents, delicious food, nice animated movies on TV, good times, playing games, what's not to like?

Right now, I hate holidays where stores are closed

Especially from Thanksgiving to New year's day

Furthermore that is in the winter

And it is colder, rains more often, and gets dark earlier

Precious lil "people" make me feel left out when they loiter together in large loud groups

Much better for them to be at work

And I try as hard as I can to ignore them, but I am a failure in many things including ignoring them

Holiday music, Christmas carols get on my nerves

Library closed

Sometimes religious zealots act more self righteous and self important over Christmas time

But atheists often act self important too

So whatever

Every day is a holiday somewhere in the world

In the United States, it is :D separation of church and state :D

Allegedly

But no it ain't

Not many stores close for Ramadan. Coins say "in God we trust". In court you swear on the Bible, not the Koran

I don't like parties, particularly when you have to party because of the date it is today.

ANZAC day.
Which is tomorrow.
It's perhaps the only proper holiday left, when all the shops are closed and reverence is shown.
Then it all becomes a monumental piss-up later in the day.
It's brilliant.
