Are Christians, Muslims and atheists idolaters?

Scholars think so and so do I.

http://bigthink.com/videos/what-is-god-2-2

Scriptures warn against idol worship yet that is exactly what Christian and Muslims do.

If you can talk about or name your God, you are an idolater. Do you realize that?

God is often thought of as an ideal.

I think that atheists would also fit into the idolater description because they idolize the notion that there is no God and have chosen that as their ideal.

Agnostics seem to be the only ones who are not idolaters because, like Gnostic Christians, they do not mind saying, I don’t know or only speaking of things they know to be facts.

Atheists don't idolize anything. What you are thinking of are antitheists aka people who go out of their way to argue against theists and wear the atheist badge for everyone to see.

As Dylan wrote we all worship something or someone

Iphone
or other tech
Being correct
Being the most humble ( see my 3 blue ray disk set on the subject.

The dictionaries are melding and blending thinking systems so I just call them all ideologies.

What is idolized is the thinking you hold supreme. If an atheist, you hold your atheism thinking supreme. You are an idolater.

Break that logic trail if you can.

This link might drive my point home. Ignore the tail end preaching and think of the definition.

Humble is not my forte nor something I particularly desire.

I see too many humble people getting shat on even worse than I get.

Humility is not thinking less of one self but thinking of thine self less.

If it is for a good purpose I can keep my mouth closed or fingers off the keys.
Being a door mat at times yes.

Being wall to wall carpeting. No

To OP
Do Gnostics do a lot of self inventory or contemplation.
I am a Christian
A recovering Pharisee so to speak Raised Orthodox Judaism.
As a sinner I have had earthly idols.
Just the fax seems amusing to this Reader & Righter
Please forgive if I offend
My word written may be just dust in the wind.
It is even harder on line than FTF for me to be clear.
My honest friends in the physical worldsometimes ask
What are you talking about?
This discussion has lost my interest for now.
-_________
Gibberish- thank you That might be the title of my next song.

Tongue in cheek of course.

Dramatic pause
and getting the sand and dust off my flip flops.

I see that my last question upset you to where you could not justify being a Christian and following a satanic God.

I don't want to waste time going to Church on Sunday. Maybe I idolize sleeping in?

Video D.

I don’t go on Sunday much these days.
I am regular on Friday nights and watch the sermons on my iPhone.

I love sleeping in and taking cat naps with my cat.
Though recently(2 hours and 7 minutes ago) I found out I am allergic to cats.

Do you think my HAS ( harmonica acquisition syndrome has turned the blues into the isolation Blues. )

Humor is good medicine for the soul.
That might be true but during allergy season my laughter turns to literal gags and aching ribs.
