Open and freeBSD look appealing, but the even worse software support really makes it unfit for daily use for me.

Both OpenBSD and FreeBSD are clearly intended for people who don't need much support outside of the mailing list and the internet. However, there is the possibility of hiring an outside individual or company with expertise in either to help you with it.

Windows 10, and that OS sucks hard.

I have a virtual machine running Ubuntu though.

I'm a Windows user who sometimes dabbles with Linux Distros.
But I'm more of a GUI pleb than a command line junkie, but I give credit to those who can put up with command lines.
