Feeling okay today. Saw a friend. Talked about some things that I needed to talk about.

I'm not hurting anymore. I'm not tired. It's gonna be okay. That is my past. It doesn't concern me now. I am not alone, and I have people who will support me. I'll be okay. I just need to keep moving forward.

Roosevelt's new song Colour is kickass. Listening to new music is one aspect of life that makes it feel not bad to still be alive at times.

Moths!

I hated them when I was a kid- we had camping holidays in France where the shower blocks were full of huge panicked moths blundering into people. It took me a while to see that from the moths' point of view.

I now work as a cleaner, and I'm very interested in zoology. Including the zoology of things with "too many legs." People at work are very careless about leaving windows open, so quite often I have to rescue moths. I've found some fantastic ones: a huge triangular Lime Hawkmoth; a Poplar Hawkmoth that looked like two crumpled-up dead leaves; a Large Emerald that looked like a little strawberry plant was growing on the wall. Right now there's a boom in ditzy Large Yellow Underwings. As insects go, they've got an understated beauty, and they're often endearingly dozy when I catch them.

So, when I'm out sweeping floors and cleaning toilets, a good moth can really make my day.

Spain is also performing well at Hopman Cup in Perth. Rafa's confidence and joy should go up a hundredfold! I'm American but, for some reason, I have a thing for Spanish tennis players.

genuinely flabbergasted that my inexpensive dell laptop has managed to last since december 2012 without a single hardware failure.

Congratulations to Roger Federer for winning the Australian Open at 35 and to Rafael Nadal for making the final at 30! I'm much older than they are, but it is great to see players achieving at a high level later in their careers.

I gave a speech today in Toastmasters. I think I needed more practice, but people liked it.

The speech was called "They Said It Couldn't Be Done." It was about achieving against the odds and overcoming adversity.
