Cristiano Ronaldo? He's the last person I'd expect to have Asperger's.

I don't know much about Tarantino, but the others strike me as "eccentric" rather than autistic. May is probably the closest.

By "eccentric" I mean "deemed strange by society". For example, Murray is seen as extraordinarily arrogant. Fry is an erudite introvert with a broad general knowledge who had to hide his homosexuality when growing up. Cobain could listen to the Beatles for hours on end and had an extensive knowledge of punk, but didn't seem to have much social impairment.

The majority of eccentrics are either aspies or have some asperger traits of. A lot of the eccentrics of bygone years would be diagnosed with aspergers in this day and age.

As for the list of famous people with aspergs:
I don't know about Murray but Fry has not got aspergers at all, Cobain probably sufferd from clinical depression and Tarantino is a bad case of ADHD.

I read in one account of Isaac Newton's life that he would wake up in the morning, swing his legs over the side of the bed like he was getting up....and then just sit there. For hours. Deep in thought. Don't know if that would be Aspie -- although I know that I zone out quite a bit -- but there's definitely something going on there.

Why John Denver? He seemed shy and talented... I can't see much beyond that.

Agreed. I would have maybe said bipolar for him. He could be way up high and then sink into deep depressions. Just listen to the lyrics of some of his songs.

Gary Numan was diagnosed with aspergers syndrome.

Glenn Gould had definite personality traits and habits.

I think we've had this discussion before, probably several times. He was diagnosed with ADHD and put on Ritalin as a child, and I recall reading that he might have had bipolar (there seems to have been a history of it in his family), but there's no conclusive evidence for his having been an Aspie.
