anorexia, family deaths bullied? relates to aspergers too..

The theory is that, rather like Asperger's or autism, anorexia sufferers' psychological view of the world, as well as their own self-image, becomes corrupted. In my case, the trigger was the death of my father; in Karen's, I believe it was being bullied.

I admit I still cannot talk at length to Karen about my own experiences. While I know rationally I am slim, I still feel fat and frumpy.

I am also too ashamed to confess to Karen that I am not "cured". I have simply managed to live with my anorexia. I just hope for her sake that, like me, she will be able to find a way to cope.

I tried to thread on that awhile back, http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt43936.html . . . sort of a first person viewpoint.

All I have is personal experience; I'd love it if anyone knows of actual research that's been done on the topic. . .
