TIL: a used lexus ls400 factory repair manual can set you back 200 dollars.

$200. dollars. a bloke in kansas bought a running es300 for that price.

yeah. that's not even the worst one i could find...

https://www.diyrepairmanuals.com/produc ... lREALw_wcB

my car is a 1999, which is basically identical to 1998 and 2000, both of which i can't find legit physical copies of for less than 200. haynes and chilton don't make any (they mostly cover cheaper cars from what i see). even just the wiring diagrams are 40 bucks apiece.

guess i'll just wait... :?

there is a chance that it requires special tools just to work on, to differentiate them from the Toyotas.

possible, but hopefully that's just the realm of the germans. looking at a timing belt guide right now (just seeing what i got myself out of doing  ) and it lists just basic sockets, breaker bar, ratchets that i already have.

maybe they intentionally throttled the sale of manuals to third parties to force people to service them at dealerships 8O a dastardly move, that would be.

to clarify, i meant that i was reading about it to see what i avoided. i've never actually changed a timing belt before, just front brakes, distributor cap/rotor, alternator, drive belt and plugs on my old car. inline 4, so they were all in easy reach.

but thanks :study:

What works of Stephen King would make for good anime adaptations?,..aside from ‘the dark tower’ series perhaps?.

I wonder what the Mother trilogy would be like as an anime?
