It was Avril Lavigne, until she married the guy from Sum 41.

I didn't know that Tim. I liked her 1st album. I can see why things changed after she married a guy from Sum 41

Sublime and only sublime. I think I have all the songs including the acoustical ones. My favorites are; Ebin, Pawn Shop, Under my Voodoo, Same in the End, and well... all of their songs.

Lately, the last thing that I found and really liked was Gwen Stephani's latest album.

Historically, I guess the stuff that I got really obsessed with at one time or another was:
Be Bop Deluxe
Genesis
Rush
Public Enemy
Tom Waits
Queesnryche
Bruce Hornsby
Indigo Girls
Geto Boys

The list could probably go on, but...

Over the years,

Metallica (Probably my biggest musical obsession... also the band that pushed me towards picking up an axe!)

and...

Stevie Ray Vaughan

Elliott Smith, bar none

I also really liked Chris Cornell's solo album Euphoria Morning and so I read up on his life around the time I first heard the album. I don't feel very interested in him as a person though, even though I find his lyrics brilliant. He seems kind of scary and high-strung.

In third place would be Mary Lou Lord. I've not kept up with all her music but I was very interested in her friendship with Elliott Smith. My favorite song of hers was actually written by him.

I was gonna write a big list, but I'll just write down the ones that inspired me to actually start playing my own stuff in the first place:

Devin Townsend

Tool

Radiohead

im not "obsessed" with any artist, what happens to me is i tend to get stuck on a song for a while and play it in a loop on iTunes for a while... this is especially common with songs by Cabin Crew originating from the Star to Fall - EP album

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.
