Yes, as I try to challenge myself when I play, so I'll go for the best that I can handle. But the difficulty I can take largely depends on the type of game.

What game genre are you most proficient in?

Pretty much only fantasy RPGs, with the occasional strategy such as Fire Emblem, or even a platformer if it's Metroid or Castlevania.

Emulators are legal. Pirating the games is not. You can legally use an emulator to run homebrew, or to run a rom of a game that you own in physical copy. It's only illegal if you pirate a rom that you don't own the hard copy of.
