The Simpsons Movie.

I agree, it did not live up to its hype, the first half hour was nice, but the plot was not that orginal nor did it have any intelligent humor .I think the direct to DVD Futurama movie Benders Big Score was much better in every aspect. It had intresting plot, great overall storyline, a lot of good humor and they pulled it all together after many years of being off the air.

Like Comic book Guy said about Cosmic Wars "Worst COSMIC WARS ever. I will only see it three more times" In my opinion Same can be said about the Simpsons Movie.

I liked all the previous Harry Potter movies, but the fifth one just plain sucked.

If you read the books ... the fifth is (IMHO) the most boring.

My favourite books are the Sixth and then the Third, which means that the next movie should be pretty good.

The Simpsons Movie.

I don't really watch the Simpsons, they're a little funny but not funny enough - and I don't have much time. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the movie. Perhaps this is a sign that it was geared towards casual viewers rather than fans?

For me it would be Spider-Man 3, for the same reasons Dunwich stated, and Shrek the Third. I had big expectations for this movie, because I love Shrek 2, but I didn't found anything funny or likeable in this one, specially some sort of plot.

And now I find they're making a FOURTH one 8O

Seriously, Superbad was the worst film I've ever seen in my life.

I was crying because I hated it so much. I almost left after 10mins but bf wanted to stay. I've never in my life been subjected to something to dire, so horrendous... it was like a constant assault on my ears, let alone my eyes. How can that much swearing ever be justified? I'm not prude and my language can be colourful, but that was just revolting. And how can anyone subjugate women in that way in the 21st century?

Not to mention the plot was dreadful, the acting appalling, and absolutely nothing was amusing.

I came out shell-shocked. Looking around the cinema during it, everyone's faces looked more or less the same as mine... horrified, bored, stunned.

I didn't think I'd ever see anything that awful in my life.

The Kingdom
Lions for Lambs
Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium
Evening
The Number 23
I Think I Love My Wife
Evan Almighty
In the Valley of Elah
War
Halloween
Grindhouse
Lucky You
Shrek the Third
Smokin' Aces
The Hitcher
Hannibal Rising
Pride
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Rendition
Saw IV
Hostel: Part 2
I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry
The Invasion
Martian Child
Alpha Dog

Reasons:
In the cases of The Kingdom, Lions for Lambs, In the Valley of Elah, and especially Rendition, all intentions were well-meaning but their stories were
way too obvious, give the fact that Iraq was somehow inserted into their plots.

No one wants to see a movie that concerns Iraq, am I correct?
In the Valley of Elah and Rendition could not make it past $10 million in domestic box-office grosses, since no one is forgiving Paul Haggis for that 2005 disaster
that was Crash and Rendition made something outrageous look boring.

Lions for Lambs grossed $15 million because of two pronouns. Tom. Cruise.

The Kingdom wanted to take the action movie and put in the bottle of "Syriana" magic. That somehow didn't work out, since this movie couldn't make up its mind of what genre it wanted to be.

Evening, Pride, Lucky You and Martian Child were too melodramatic.

The Number 23, Hannibal Rising, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry and The Invasion were too silly.

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium takes the cake for most irratating.
Edward Magorium is one of the most annoying characters I have experienced in theaters.

As for the others...

Evan Almighty, War, and Alpha Dog all tie for being
"Most Busiest Movie"

I Think I Love My Wife: Least Funniest

Halloween, Grindhouse, Hostel: Part 2, The Hitcher, and Saw IV
all tie for "Most Worthy of DTV"

Shrek the Third, Smokin' Aces, and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer all tie for "Witless and Lame-brained Movie"

Whew!

I invite you to watch the horror that is Superbad and see if you can actually sit through it then, and give us your verdict... ;)

(Oh, and Tom and Cruise aren't pronouns... ;) )

I simply avoided all the movies that I thought IMHO looked bad. So I'd have to say the worst one I saw in theaters this years was "Shrek the Third". It's such a shame since the first two were good.

Pirates of the Carribbean: At World's End. words cannot describe how much i hated the Pirates sequels. overly long, overly complicated, a bloated stupid plot and characterization, i could go on for days about how much i hated this movie. it was two and a half hours of me sitting there going "...wait, what??"

...and it made close to a billion dollars worldwide.

I abhor those PotC movies. That's why after I saw the first one (against my will), I vowed never to watch the sequels. I think I made a good call on that.

I thought Superbad was really good. Not as good as 40 Year Old Virgin or Knocked Up, though.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that one because it was so, well, forgetable. They truly phoned it in, having all the leftovers from Shrek 2 slug it out with Arthur and Merlin being the only new elements.

I'm completely baffled that they're making a 4th as well. The 3rd just seemed to scream out that they'd given up.

Oh, and Epic Movie probably isn't worth mentioning either, because it didn't really get anyone's hopes up. It'll serve future generations as a good time capsule of what other movies were on everyone's mind just prior to its release, and that's about all.

40-year-old virgin was good, but I avoided Knocked Up as it looked so awful, and given the actors... nooooo. Katherine Heigl is normally good, dunno what she was thinking.

Anyway.

I actually gave Superbad a -10 star review (in a review system of 1-5 stars!!) for a magazine. :P

Special {Dis}Honors go to:

Bug
Shoot 'Em Up
The Brave One
Across the Universe
The Messengers
Pathfinder
Ocean's Thirteen
Stardust
Arctic Tale
Nancy Drew

Reasons:

Ocean's Thirteen sucked even worse than Ocean's 12 and makes the 2001 remake of
Ocean's Eleven look bad.

Stardust, Nancy Drew, Pathfinder and Bug make good cures for insomnia.

Arctic Tale was supposed to be a good follow-up to March of the Penguins.
Not so. Not even Queen Latifah's voice could save this piece of goat turd.

Shoot 'Em Up can be known as the thematic sequel to Smokin' Aces.

The Brave One
was an incompetent failure for a very competent cast & crew.

Across the Universe
was just bad and will become a camp classic.

The Messengers was a piece of PG-13 horror wannabe that was a remake of a much better piece of J-horror. The Pang Brothers remade something that should have been left alone.
