Just today I thought it was weird how I was walking upstairs on my toes.

My oldest son did from the time he was very small until the past year or two, he's now 16. It was one of the first traits we were able to point to. The sing song repetitive voice, the rolling his eyes up into his head practically to avoid looking you in the eye... He hung onto toe walking much longer than any of the other traits.

I used to love walking on my toes. It annoyed me to walk normally. I think I managed to avoid it at school though. If only I could do it without people noticing or commenting...

:(

yea I do, I think it was from how I used to always run up steps, so using the heel didn't come up. Now its just natural to the point stepping with my full foot feels akward.

This is something I didn't know was common for Aspies, I wonder why

I have always favored most of my body weight forward onto my toes. Even if I do not lift my heels off the ground I get the urge to do so a lot.

I do when I'm running up and down corridors- it's easier to maneuver around objects/ sudden appearance of family members. I used to shuffle a lot (with most weight on my toes) when Im was a kid, but my mum kept telling me it'd make my feet tired, so I stopped.

Yup. I love walking on my toes. I often don't realise I'm doing it though until someone points it out to me.

A little when I was younger, but I also danced when I walked too.

Oh, ye Norse gods, I don't - but my older brother does. All the time. All day. Then he complains about foot cramps. Loudly.

About two months ago, I was walking up some stairs and noticed that I was walking on my toes. The people in front of me were not.

When I walked up a different set of stairs later that day, I noticed that I did the same thing. I must always walk up stairs this way.

I thought it was strange, so I searched youtube for video of some stairs.

I found a six-minute clip of some stairs in a public place:

How can you not climb stairs on your toes? Isnt that normal?
Im gonna have to check that now :?

I dont really walk only on my toes but I know I favour putting more weight to the front of your foot. Get more power into your steps and can react faster, like when people aren't looking where they are going and walk in front of you. If Im stuck behind someone walking really slow Ill walk on my toes, I get so annoyed at that.

I can't walk up the stairs without being on my toes, have tried it and almost fell down the stairs (yet again!).
Sitting at my computer I don't put my feet down, just my toes, and I do that no matter the height of the chair I am using.
Combine walking on my toes a lot of the time with the fact that I used to run marathons and never stretched and you have the big reasons why my lower body flexibility is really bad. Still kickboxing helped change that around, though it's taken ages to do so and a fair bit of pain.
Almost forgot, when I am not wearing shoes I almost always toe-walk.
