NES is Nintendo Entertainment System. I guess there an older version that had a robot but that doesn't count so don't start picking my claim about the NES being the original Nintendo game system.

My favorite games for the NES are a tie between Bubble Bobble and Dragon Warrior IV

Mine is Star Tropics and its sequel.

My favorite game for the NES is Contra, followed closely by Super Contra (Super C) and River City Ransom.

Contra and Super Contra on xbox 360 (Ithink these are direct arcade ports) are better in a lot of ways but have less levels than the NES versions.

I'm really sick of mario 3 (from being an nes enthusiast and always have a console) because everyone always wants to play that.

As a preteen/early teen I was obsessed with the world of Mario :D I was spending whole hours playing it. I even made a drawing presenting a bedroom furnished in the Mario style - a green pipe instead of the door etc. There must have been also a flower pot with the "power plant" from the game, picking which made Mario grow and another one with the "sundew" coming out of a pipe. I wish I didn't destroy it so many years ago. I was spending a lot of time looking at it.

In my imagination, Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and all the other creatures we saw in the game (including the sundew, a goomba, lakitu and a cloud and so on) were kids, friends having various adventures in the Mario world.

My favorite NES game was Metroid. The character animations were quite advanced for an 8-bit console and the music created the perfect ambiance. If you beat the game you were in for a surprise - who knew you were playing a woman?

I was also to a smaller extent fascinated with Ice Climber - I liked to imagine this land of ice and snow with the animals living in this part of the world. In this fantasy Mowgli from the Jungle Book game, Ariel from The Little Mermaid and the piglets from Pooyan (back then I thought they were little girls dressed in pink dresses) lived with the Ice Climbers Eskimo couple as a foster family or something like that (though I knew they'd have a hard time living in there wearing a mere loincloth, bra and summer dresses). I'm fascinated with the roughness of places having an extremely cold climate (like the Europa moon I'm interested in now).

Both Zelda games for NES. Yes, I'm one of the few people who liked Zelda II. I never said I was normal.

By the way, the Temple Theme, played in every dungeon in Zelda II, is the best 8-bit music ever. Together with Bloody Tears from Simon's Quest, of course.
