In school it feels like I can't be me. I just have to go around and pretend. And there are many annoying kids at my school who make fun of people with Celebral Pares, ADHD and DAMP. I HATE IT! They should look for facts about it rather than making fun of it. Sometimes when I hear a word "I'm so CP today!" or "You're such an ADHD kid!" (but they're not saying it to me but still) I want to scream "SHUT UP!! !" Are there any teens at your school who are making fun of these people?

yeah, but when I went to school it was 'you have cooties!" and then when my kids went to school, it was 'you're so gay' and when it was a girl they were a 'b***h'. and now it's 'you're so ADHD or your so PC!'

and you know, you didn't even have to have 'cooties' (head or body lice) or be gay or bitchy or have ADHD or even be politically correct!

it is called the 'shotgun' approach. Someone wants to put you down, they just chose one and the scatter shot sometimes hits someone that actually did have cooties, or ADHD or be gay.

I guess I am trying to say to not take it personally. When you are the majority, you can dictate how others feel about those that are not in the majority. I don't say it is RIGHT or CORRECT, I am just saying we are not going to change their minds by appealing to their sense of right and wrong.

they just don't care. And they don't have to care, either. Our attempts to make them care (and stop) just feeds their need to reject the 'other.

So it becomes one of those things we have to be above, to be the more mature, to be the shining example by not hurting others by doing the same thing.

The kids who make fun of other kids are just trying to hurt or put down others to make themself feel better. They are usually the ones with major issues that they keep hidden, so that no one knows. Its really sad, but things have not changed about teasing/bullying since I was in school (I graduated in 1988! Yeah, 20+ years ago.... )

Just try to remember that you are the better one, for you understand how to treat others with respect.

Too true, I left school in 1973
My memories of school, it was such a horrible place, constant name calling, regular bullying with violence.

So charming were those halcyon days NOT!

I pains me to see nothing has changed!

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

I hate to say it, but that is what High School is all about, being fake for a bunch of people that still hate you. I swear, I really can't wait to get out of here, mainly because people don't talk to me unless they want something.

I suggest just holding tight.

and after living in other cities and states and never connecting with those people in high school, I went to my 30th High School reunion. Suddenly, as I was sitting at the tables I realized I was watching the same people that heckled me or made my life miserable as a youth being the same people I couldn't abide now that I was an adult. They never lived anywhere else but that podunk town, or did anything than just what their parents did, they just reproduced and were smug about it. And when I realized that they expected me to sit there and be THEIR audience again!

I walked out and never looked back.
