QFT... that + Pokemon ruined all anime for me for about 7 years. And then I got into Gurren Lagann and EVA.

To be honest, I was an anime fan when I was little
but grew out of my loving-of-anime after a while.

I used to watch some on Adult Swim when I was around nine to twelve, that age area. Never really watched any past then.

Even though I'm a big fan of Japanese culture, I don't really like anime very much. It's overrated and the fans can be annoying.

Ghost in the Shell is great however.

doesn't really look all that interesting to me.

Wow I am starting to feel a little outnumbered now. About a year or so ago I didn't know anime beyond pokemon and stuff. First I saw some stuff that would be shown on American tv, now I have seen things that would have shocked me a year ago. I could say I hate anime for losing so much interest on most tv and shuting me away so much, but a great deal of the ones made towards adults are much better then most of the boreing stuff on tv.

I agree. I feel outnumbered too. ^_^ However, in my case I think I'd still be a a shut-away even if I weren't an anime nerd. I'd just find something else to obsess over and substitute for reality.

I've enjoyed some anime, but I wouldn't consider myself a fan.

Nothing wrong with anime but I don't really watch it. I prefer more of those American comedy cartoons.

Sorry if this has been brought up, I don't want to go back over all the pages to check, but I've had wild sensory troubles from most of the anime I've seen. I haven't seen that much, and what I've seen is fine (I wouldn't say I'm a "fan" but I don't dislike it) but there's always weirdness with the lights and animation that tilts me out.

I mostly only read manga, and I'm not into stuff like Naruto or Bleach. I like stories that are aimed at older audiences or have something unique about them. It's surprising how much depth can be put into some series.. There really is something for everyone if you look. :D
