As much as I'm obsessed with video games, I understand that they're not for everyone. People have different tastes and hobbies, and some of them can't really get into games. As they say, "To each his own."

In some ways, I agree with Strapples... 5 GB is a lot when you think about it (over 5 billion bytes!) I wish that game developers would be a bit more "conserving" when making their games. Since many games these days are shorter than they used to be, there's no real excuse for them to take up so much disk space. :?

Anyway, I'm disappointed that there aren't many other FPS fans around here. I would've thought there'd be more, given how "anti-social" the genre can be.

Good question... I'm not entirely sure, to be honest. I was able to play Half-Life 2 on a relatively old machine (with about 2 ghz.) It may be possible if it's the same engine. I think your graphics card will make a difference, though I don't know how fast the game will play online.

I like some games, but most of them are browser based... i am ultra conservative with my HDD space.

5GB is a LOT for a GAME

I am one, but I am a rare type-

a female

I have played Halo 2 on "Heroic" (I think thats what its called, it the level below Legendary) and beaten it. I have tried "Legendary," but was unable to get too far.

I have played Half-Life 1 and 2, and they are good. There are others I have played, but some of them are not as good as these.

If I could make a game, it would be a combination of the FPS and RPG genres. It would be a Star Wars game that is at least 40+ hours long, and you have the option to become a Jedi or Sith (or neither.) You can pick what species your character is to be, and what gender. These would affect the responses NPCs would have towards you, and some of the situations in the game. You could go to a bunch of planets and go "behind the scenes" in places where the events of the movies happened. But there would be a nice story to follow, one that could change depending on what species you are and what you do.

That sounds a bit like a mix of Mass effect and star wars: Knights of the old republic, and chuck in maybe Halo for good measure. I have tried to beat Halo 2 on legendary and I actualy somehow managed to beat the first level, but the Elites are just too damn hard and you dont have much ammo to do it. I think I managed to do the last level though, after a long time of trying, the trick for me was when Johnson is in the Scarab go straight to the control room and dont fight anyone, plus if you do things right you can sneak the ghost into the fight against Tarterus.

I've got a few ideas, none of them really fully developed, though. Whatever ideas I come up with, I guarantee you they'll be better than this one:
