Are you sure that you are reacting to the pain itself and not BEFORE the pain (eg: When you see a needle?).

Supposedly aspies are quite resistant to strong pain but quite sensitive to softer touches. Aspies also have very good memories which makes things like repeated pain (children and needles) all the worse.

Of course, not all aspies are the same.

You mean that some aspies that have their arm cut off won't feel it? woo... 8O

I don't know what a "normal" reaction to pain is so I really can't say. I can however keep myself from reacting to mild to moderate pain.

If I think something will hurt, I can over react. But, I don't feel pain right away. The other day at work, I had put boiling hot water on in a tea pot to bring out to a customer and put my finger against the pot to help balance it and the waters I was carrying. I was almost to the table when it dawned on me that I was burning my finger. It wasn't until later that I realized exactly what I had done. They also freak out a work if I get any maple syrup on me because apparently to others it is scalding. Sometimes though, it just takes awhile for the pain to catch up to me.

I'm very sensitive to pain; my pain threshold is extremely low.

I don't really like pain but i'm not very sure if my pain threshold is lower or higher than others, but i do try to avoid getting hurt as much as possible

Is this typical for people with AS, or am I just a giant wuss? :P

I can tolerate deep and/or squeezing pain, but not anything light :S

my sense of touch is by far the most sensitive.
