He works with adults with ADD/ADHD/Asperger's/general anxiety.

He dose evaluations and therapy.

I'm desperately looking for someone in my area for my son. He's seen occupational therapists (said he was ALL better!), and a few different psychiatrists. I'm thinking of a new one (his doesn't seem to care too much), and a psychologist now too. I live in Spotsylvania, and so far the closest I've seen is Va Beach, which is roughly 2 1/2 hours away from me.
Anyone know any good docs for Aspergers or even how you go about finding doctors that deal particularly with that?
Many thanks!

This organization is located in Fredrickburg - a lot closer than VA Beach. You're closer to DC and Richmond than you are to VA beach, I would have to guess that there are specialists in one of those locations though I wouldn't want to drive in to DC on a regular basis if I were you.

Thank you SO much for that! I just spoke to a woman there that's sending over via email, their list of docs that they have. And she also gave me a Lynn Delamer of Mental Health of America in my area. If I should EVER find one that's good and that works, I'll be sure to put it here.
Thanks again!:)

You can in the UK get private EDpysch appointements if you google it and if you can afford it.

Jelibean, is it possible to get an educational psych (that is an expert in AS) if you are home educating?

Any suggestions on someone in the Chicago area (preferably NW suburbs) who specializes in or can at least diagnose adult autism? It would be for me and I'm nearing 30. Thanks.

As an adult, I had a really good experience a while ago getting helped by the folks in the LDAS in Regina, Saskatchewan. My diagnostic clinician was Laurie Garcea in Saskatoon. Though there are no 'good' places to have Asperger's, Saskatchewan as a province does not have many services for adults who do not live in either Regina or Saskatoon, and NONE for my area.

If it were not for wrongplanet, I would not have met any other aspies.

In Dallas, TX we found a wonderful pediatric chiropractor Dr. Amber Brooks @ Whole Child Wellness Center (469) 547-1173. She has been able to help my daughter's anxiety with supplements rather than drugs. Fantastic improvement in just few weeks.
Plus she can evaluate OATs test and others.
She does cranial-sacral as well.
My daughter is Aspie and 13 yrs old. When we started she (my daughter) would not even leave the house bcuz her anxiety had gotten so bad. Now, in just 3 months working with Dr Brooks my daughter is getting cranial-sacral adjustments once a week and improving every day.

I highly recommend Dr. Amber Brooks @ Child Wellness Center in Dallas, TX

We are moving from Dallas, TX to Bartlesville, OK and I need to find help for my daughter, Aspie, 13 yrs old. Does anyone one know of good services in Oklahoma. Bartlesville is close to Tulsa. We do not have an official diagnosis. And I need to find a Dr. that will treat her Candida.
Plus help with her dyslexia, and anxiety.
We home school and are struggling financially, so I also need to know of any programs that I can apply for assistance without having the diagnosis already.

In Kansas (US), the Autism/Asperger Resource Center associated with Kansas University Medical Center is no longer in existence (lost funding years ago). The slack has been taken up by many providers, but I'll mention two with whom we've had good experiences. Dr Ed Hoffman (Neurodevelopmental Pediatrician) in Overland Park, KS, and Carol Daniel (Developmental Pediatrician) are both associated with Children's Mercy Hospital.

I tried this route, but as my son's social skills problems don't affect his learning/grades, they would only help with his gifted IEP.

Wow, I'm so glad that I came across this parent thread. I am in the process of putting together a comprehensive database of providers that are vetted by parents and was hoping to get some feedback from a few parents about what they look for when choosing a *quality* service provider. If any of the parents on this thread have 10 minutes, could you fill out this survey about how you choose a quality service provider?

kellogg [dot] qualtrics [dot] com/SE/?SID=SV_9GLXbC80J1dMTVb

I'd really appreciate it. After the survey period is over, I'll post the combined results on here.

Thanks SO much for your time!

I'd like to add a whole group to this list. Naturally, I cannot vouch for every single therapist, but I'd just like to say that Pediatric Therapy Services in Florida has just been consistently awesome. My sister went there a decade ago for PT and OT and it was awesome then. A child I care for goes there now for Speech and OT and it's still awesome. And when I was asking a special ed teacher if she knew a good OT, unasked for another parent behind me blurted out "Go to PTS!" Any place that can keep up that kind of consistency of service and inspire that kind of fervor is just generally awesome. :) They have a Lakeland and a Brandon location.

Also, separate and I know he's already on the list, but I can vouch for Dr. Kowalski, an SLP who is in the Orlando/Lake Wales area, he was generally awesome. http://www.socialpragmatics.com/mrtim.html

The Stixrud group in Silver Spring, Maryland, is the best place I know of for testing, counseling, diagnostics and the like.

All of the people there, and all of the specialists and groups affiliated with them are amongst the best in the country for a reason. I'm not trying to be an advert, but I had gone to countless doctors, psychologists/psychoanalysts/etc and "specialists" over the past 20 years of my life, and every single one before the Stixrud group misdiagnosed and quite often mistreated me and my family. It was hellish. The people off at this particular group were the only ones to truly care and understand to the point where they were not only willing, but almost adamant to keep up with me and asked me to stay in contact after the initial testing. I had been strictly against seeing any more psychotherapists for the past few years after what I had experienced with previous "caretakers", but I have to say that this place changed my mind and inspired me to find out more about myself, and see what I can do to help my processes in life. Dr. Black @ CAAT-online is also an amazing find, and affiliated with Stixruud.

Any recommendations for the Tampa, FL area? I have an appointment at All Childrens Hospital but haven't been able to find reviews on their intake process or diagnosis.
