Though i'd lighten the mood... what is the best moment you ever had?

My two best moments were when I held my sons close to my heart only minutes after they were born while promising to love them forever. There is no better feeling.

One of the best moments I ever had was when I got a special present from my friends on my Siamese cat site-a painting of a Lynx point Siamese cat that looked incredibly like my Samantha.

9catmom- My aunt has 6 cats 1 siamese- its the most docile thing on the planet.She just got a devon rex and its manic!

I've not really had one. There are just sudden moments though in which nothing feels wrong and everything becomes perfect.
The sun rolling over a shadow upon your back on a summer's day. Tuning off from life completely. Being completely wired. Finishing off with a long fixture in your life. Finding quaint old photographs. Dreams in which people love you. Countless moments in music.

It's all priceless.

This is quite sad but I cannot even think of any moment... My first weeks in Turkey were a great experience though and very fulfilling, but that is different from one concentrated short moment of bliss.

crackedpleasures, no way is that sad! that sounds absolutely awesome! Bliss is extremely rare after all

What I mean is that one moment that sticks with you for the rest of your life, a moment of total euphoria and bliss, is a lot more intense than long-term fullfillment usually.

But yes, that time in Turkey. Waking up in a totally new country, full of excitement, where something new awaits on every street corner, the hot sun on my skin when waking up, looking out of my window and seeing those beautiful mosques, ... I so much miss the Middle East and I'd love to go back.



VNV Nation have a song "Standing" about the kind of moment of total bliss, the sort of moment that you wish would last forever. I really love this part of the lyrics:

Reading this topic makes me really miss the Middle East again. Germany isn't a bad place at all but, as weird as it may sound, after growing up in Belgium and having spent time in several European countries I am sometimes a bit fed up with Europe. Nothing makes you richer emotionally than to be swamped in a totally different culture and way of life.
