I am in Australia and last night (Sat) the episode of The Bill featured an Aspie teenage boy they pronounced it As-per-jer Syndrome. I thought it was goodin that it showed how the police if ignorant of AS can make assumptions and mistakes that are completely wrong and unfair. IMO it is vital the police are trained or at the very least informed of AS and what the ramifications are of it, i have had an issue with them myself for similar reasons. In the end the boy was cleared of wrongdoing and in fact made a hero which was good.

it was better than some portrayals which in a way make fun of aspies.
