Haha, finally.

Jack Thompson is so disbarred
...his law school gave him a refund.
Jack Thompson is so disbarred
...even the laws of supply and demand avoid him.
Jack Thompson is so disbarred
...pirates have to say 'GGGGGG' when they're around him.
Jack Thompson is so disbarred
...Klondike doesn't care what he'd do.

First Bill Clinton gets disbarred for perjury. Then this joker. Which is more surprising?

This guy is an idiot I am happy he went down. But the reality is what happened in GTA would never be allowed in a movie. There has to be limits somewhere.

I suppose you never watched Total Recall, did you? Or Hard Boiled, that one has a pretty high body count too. Actually, have you seen a movie with an R rating before?

You mean what will happen to him in prison would never be allowed in a video game.

Finally this nut job has gotten what he deserves. All he does is complain that video games do this and that which is not true.

To bad we can't give him a pair of concrete shoes :(

Lost Highway, Hannibal, the first Lone Wolf and Cub film, Pulp Fiction and A Clockwork Orange. Those were rated R 18+ by the OFLC, the Australian ratings board.

Yes, yes, Cyberleader, but can we talk to David Banks now, please?

I was responding to Programmer's post that what happened in GTA would never be allowed in a film. Considering the amount of violence that happened in Total Recall and Hard Boiled, I thought that was either a naive view of movies or GTA, and I was trying to figure out whether he had watched/played either.

Having played all of the GTA series games, I can say that there is nothing in there that wouldn't make it into an R rated movie, the equivalent to the game's M rating. People like Jack Thompson seem to be ignorant of the fact that adults are a significant part of the video game market and that we want games that speak to that. Either that, or he's a total grandstanding hypocrite, I could go either way. I did rather enjoy the mission in GTAIV where you had to kill a lawyer that was obviously supposed to be him, Rockstar always finds ways to do things like that.

This is great news! I wonder what Penney Arcade is going to say.

David Banks declined to comment, but Christopher Robbie described Thompson's disbarment as "THE GREAT-EST SPEC-TA-CLE IN THIS SO-LAR SYS-TEM. UN-HAP-PILY, YOU WILL NOT LIVE TO AP-PRE-CI-ATE IT."

This is the same person who wore a fake muscle suit, and yet got the crap beaten out of him by Wendy Padbury? Not to mention calling "Cyber-bums*" the most explosive thing in the universe.

*"Cyber-bombs", but spoken in a South African accent

They ARE... That's what happens when you get a bad case of "Cyberrhea." That's why you should limit the gold-intake in your diet.

Okay, before we completely derail this thread, let's stop this before it goes too far.
