Good Psychopaths in Society?
My psychopath is not productive. He is on disability support and enjoying his wealthy family.
I have a sneaky feeling that if his family turned off the cash for a few months, he'd be thrown into a world of making money and he'd like it. Might even make his own fortune, like his father did. Crazy runs in the family ![]()
I have one rolemodel. Hannibal Lecter. I love him. I wanna have his children. And i'm a guy.

Was he ever formally diagnosed with psychopathy, sociopathy, antisocial personality disorder, or dissocial personality disorder?
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, combined type, is a common comorbidity among psychopaths as is bipolar disorder. Manic and hypomanic episodess can resemble many of the behaviors seen as a stable personality style in psychopaths.
If he wants something, there is nothing that will stop him. Exceedingly attractive, charming to a fault when he has to be, but inside is a nasty monster waiting to come out. He was raised in a conservative, privileged family and has a lot of moral rules that come from that - not hitting girls, formal manners, pride in appearance and putting on a good face.
He's mad. He's so mad, and I think it's great. Insanity is sexy with this lad.
I have no doubt in my mind that he'd never hurt me intentionally, but I've seen him do it to people who mean less to him. Everything in his mind seems cold and rational, which I find soothing. No crazy social rubbish, it's all clear-cut unless he's playing a game with me, in which case I smile and go along with the silly, which is always obviously a game. Never a dull moment
How do you know he'll never betray if he's completely "rational" and calculating? What happens when his goals require betraying you? I suppose then his "insanity" will be a lot less sexy.
When you are playing with fire you are aware that you may get burnt.

Psychopaths do often function well in society. Unhampered by fear or a conscience, they can actually go quite far in the corporate world. Their superficial charm makes them ideal salespeople, and an ability to go after a goal with no thought of the consequences or morality of their actions will accelerate them up the corporate ladder. But going along with that, they cannot have healthy relationships, because they feel nothing for other people. So psychopaths can function, just not often happily.
I don't know about psychopaths, but I read posts on a schizoid forum one time where they discussed why they enjoy helping people. Despite that they lack empathy towards people, they still perform selfless acts for them, simply because they like feeling useful. They can be very generous towards you, yet not be saddened at all if anything bad happens to you, despite how terrible it is. Maybe psychopaths have similar reasons.
