I'm almost 29 but I look early 20s. If I didn't have so many tattoos & breast augmentation I would probably look younger than that. I abused my body pretty terribly by smoking 10 years, 2+ packs of cigarettes a day at points, drinking heavily every night for 5 years, and tanning almost every day for 5 years (none of which I do any longer). Everyone in my family lives to be pretty old but looked older faster than I do. It's pretty strange.

They say stress and anxiety causes premature aging. You'd think because of that we should all look like 90-year-olds by now. :?

yeah really, but it seems to be the opposite.

I'm 31 and I still get carded. I live with a bunch of guys in their early twenties and everyone who doesn't already know thinks I'm younger. I've always had a baby face and I've been refused entry to a bar because a bouncer thought I was using a fake id, I had to show him my credit card and student id, both with the same name before he'd give me my license back and the jerk still wouldn't let me in.

I'm 32 and often get mistaken for being younger. Last year I went to a meeting for work and someone, thinking they were funny, said that I "looked too young to have a job."

Half of the time, when I buy a six-pack, the checker asks me if "I am old enough to drink beer!"

I'm 54, and people think I'm in my 40s. If I didn't have gray hair/receding hairline, they might think I'm in my 30s. People have started giving me seats on the subway.

My father is 83 and still going strong. My mother is almost 81, and still working as a psychotherapist, though she's slowed down a bit.

My paternal grandfather passed away at 87; my maternal grandmother passed away at 89. My paternal grandmother was 69. My paternal grandfather was in his 40s (he died of cirrhosis of the liver).

Many people in my family, even in the 19th century, lived to be at least in their 80s.

On the contrary I say those with autism on average live less mostly because of stress, loneliness, poverty, lower income jobs.

You have to remember that a good percentage of autistics live on their own in a small apartment, don't drive, dont have a job and live off of social security, and arne't in a relationship and probably won't be in one for a while. Autism is linked to loneliness and loneliness is linked to stress which can make you age faster.

Hard to say with those pink glasses covering half your face and you wearing a hood.

Hard to say from the one pic, with the hat and glasses, but I wouldn't guess 25 from what I see.

Interestingly enough, people always think that I'm a couple years older than I actually am.

However, on the internet, people think I'm younger.

Agree, but one can reduce the amount of stress in life by adapting.

Also i think we live shorter, some research suggest that our immune systems are different (or altered) and there is a slightly elevated risk of autoimmune diseases in families that have someone with autism, including the one with autism. This could lead to a shorter lifespan, or a life with less quality.

(Google Susanne Bejerot karolinska autism or autoimmune)
