My mom was taken to the hospital today in an ambulance. She was having difficulty breathing and they found out that she has pneumonia. She is now on antibiotics and a breathing tube in the ICU. She'll be there for a couple of days last I heard. Any prayer would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about it. Is she conscious? It's very rare that a patient is intubated if they're still able to breathe at all and conscious.

Mom isn't conscious, they have her medicated so that she stays asleep. The doctors have removed fluid from her lungs. Her blood pressure keeps fluctuating though.

Hope she does well! :D
I've had pneumonia so many times...and the weird thing is, I only get it in the summer. I thought it was more likely to come during the cold months.. :?

Aggravated by summer allergies?

Pneumonia is pretty common; so they probably have lots of experience with it... I'd be glad to be sedated if I had to have a breathing tube. Sounds uncomfortable.

Get well soon, non-parakeet's mom.

I hope she gets better soon. Sorry to hear that. My mom used to get pneumonia all the time and ended up in the hospital many times. Thank God she survived or else I wouldn't be here!
