wait, wait wait so you live in japan???? how are you finding life there? I am thinking about moving to japan (given I find employment, which i'v heard can be hard). I want to learn Japanese too. have been fascinated by Japanese culture since forever :3
Yes, I moved here in September 2015, and I'm married to a Japanese citizen, so I'm "in it for life", I guess. Life here is mostly good, although it can be exhausting some times. The standards at work are very high, and work hours are long. On weekdays, I typically leave the house at 7:20, and return between 22:30 and 00:00. I'm working in a Japanese company so there are ones which are more accommodating to foreigners, but the bottom line is that you have to put in a ton of hours and effort.
Learning Japanese is also a marathon run. Since I work, and have to keep energy for the time spent with my spouse (a difficult combo), I don't have much time to study. I can get by in everyday life, but there's still a long way to go.
If you'd like to move here, I'd suggest investigating all these things in detail and ask yourself whether you think you can do it. I just came here naively and thought I'd adjust as I moved along. To some extent that has been true, but it's also been extremely tough at times.
