Is Santa Claus God for children? Maybe it's all in the way you look at it.

By the way, nice rhetoric there, mistercheech. Way to skewer the OP with your rapier wit. </sarcasm>

As for God and Santa... I believe
No I don't think there is some fat guy riding around on a sleigh or there is some white haired man sitting on a throne in the sky.
I believe in the power and the spirit of love. The change a smile, a helping hand, or a small gift can make. It's all about attitude and how that attitude can spread. The lights and the music of xmas help brighten up the darkest of winter.

I can't afford or always remember to keep in contact with family. X-mas is a reminder for me to write them, to share some of my joys. It reminds me to be a nicer person, something I should be doing all along.. but we all need reminders.

It may be foolish to believe in things I cannot see. My wife says she loves me, yet I cannot see or prove it, I just have to believe. I love her, it's nothing I can prove or measure... it's something I just know. So, I will remain foolish with my childlike wonder of the world.. and yes I will still believe in Santa, elfs, dragons, and goddesses.

Happy Holidays and I wish you a very merry Christmas.

Why can't Santa Claus be Santa Claus for adults?

mistercheech I have sent you one caution and one warning PM which you have not read. Either read the PMs or log off of WrongPlanet.net.

Here are some questions.
What does "God is Santa for adults" means?
Does it actually have a metaphysical/physical point?
if it does not, why not?
Does that make sense for an atheist to argue intellectually, from an atheist perspective?
Does that always have to be taken as mockery or offending?
