It's hard to believe but all the people (including teachers) hate on Open Office. When I told someone that I switched from MsOffice to OOo the guy said that was retarded! I just don't get those people sometimes. Honestly I think that they just didn't like the change and hopefully by next school year no one will even care about the switch.
I get sick of having to support the rest of the world in using proprietary file formats. MS Office isn't even compatible with itself, whereas OOo will open almost any document format, and also save to any format. But it's hard when I can't get people to say which MS Office version they're using- maybe I'll save in an Office2003 format and their Office2007 won't be able to open it, or vice versa.

I have Open Office ...somewhere...oh wait, the one time I had a Linux machine (Red Hat...try explaining to the boss why you have a machine with an 'unofficial' distro...
Only thing I remember was the Word clone program was a little too helpful typing things for me...but I was too lazy to turn off the feature...
We managed to give Vista a dodge, so we'll see when System 7 comes out...![]()
