Monkey live life. Do we want to be monkeys?

Why are you so sure you're not?

Because I don't eat my own sh**, have sex in plain view or throw stones at people.

But people do eat the most awful crap, finance the porno and prostitution industry to the tune of billions and routinely shoot and blow up each other far beyond the habits of other types of monkeys. Do you base your superiority on that?

I am Aspergian. Not neurotypical.

Aha. I see. A superior type primate beyond good and evil.

Yes.

So, examining life and living life - which is more fun?

Have you ever done that thing where you are alive and living fully, and then you realize it - and now you are no longer alive and living well but rather watching yourself being alive and living well - and then you are watching yourself, watching yourself....?

trippy....

I do not live to have "fun". In fact, I have never had fun, and do not want to have fun.

Why would I want it?

Given that most people want to have fun... however they define fun, maybe you can tell us about your POV on fun, and why its undesired by you.

Try to relate this to the living vs. examining theme. Please and Thanks.

You're full of it, unless your definition of fun is extremely complicated, you've had fun plenty of times in your life.

Also, whether or not I'm the first to bring it up, the Aspergian stuff is a tad.. extreme. And I'm skeptical as to whether or not you're posting it out of humor or are actually serious.

Regardless of the reason Zyborg raises a good point.

The entire problem with this question is the culture to which it is presented. This all tends to devolve into a conversation on Living life and having fun, vs examining life and being right.

Having fun and being right are two infinitesimally small notions of the greater prospect of life. 'Life' and 'examination' themselves are even small notions of the prospect of everything, just larger frameworks when compared to the notions of 'fun' and 'righteousness.'

As a result, this entire conversation has no hope but to devolve into arguments over personal values. The question is lost, because this culture and those within cannot seemingly begin to grasp the question in its unbiased form. One in which "life in action" is compared to "life in examination".

In other words, the difference between the function of a passive state, and an active state. That is the real question that should be asked.

So, I say, what is better/the differences that arise from a passive collaboration versus those of an active collaboration?

So - do we know or have oppinions on which is which? Is living passive or active? Is examineing passive or active?

I can see arguements for both. And maybe by some logical quantum uncertainty both are true. Depends on the point of view I suppose...

And that the point of this threa to have people tell there POV on this. I don't wanna make people argue (even if it is fun to watch).

I examine life.

My parents are always encouraging me to dress older, go out to pubs and bars (even though i'm underage), get a job and get a boyfriend, just because it's 'normal' for my age group.
Is anything normal?
Am I missing out on life, just because I'm different? I think not. Although it does get quite depressing, sitting and listening to my friends talk about how much fun their friday was. I don't think I would pass, anyhow.

I enjoy examining life, and thinking about the past. I can't see how there could be anything wrong with that, but if others don't want to subject life to such a degree of examination then that seems fine too.

Anyway, doesn't somebody have to live life a bit in order to have something to examine?

I'm also surprised nobody has responded with a certain Socrates quote.

A verbal definition is impossible because "fun" is too subjective. One knows he is having fun when he is having fun. Words are not sufficient.
