sniffin' markers, that's a paddlin'

I love it too. I remember back in school, we had the packs with like 8 different colors, and each color had a different flavored smell(fruits). Now that I think about it.... that was sort of twisted to know that they were intentionally made, so that we would sniff them.

rubber....crayola....petrol....permanent markers....freshly laser printed paper....freshly cut grass...these are my favourite smells ^.^

Petrol, markers, alcohol, and many perfumes smell OK at a distance, but too much makes me gag.

One smell i cant stand, is the smell you get
when you open a brand new one of those
big black garbage bags, that plastic smell,
but that might be because i spent a few months
washing floors and changing full garbagebags
at a huuge postal-sorting-facility the smell
reminds me of that

someone mentioned chlorine- eeew! it's the same kind of eeew as bleach. hurts nostrils.

I can relate to the new-garbage-bag eew too. and rubber- yuck. bleah.

Alot of vitamin pills and stuff like that smells like evil, rotten evil
sticking my nose into a bottle of those and taking a whiff is just
horrible

i like the smell of them

You know, i might have smellt the ultimate smell,
as a kid i worked on a garbage dump for a while,
a big one, almost all garbage from the capitol and
its surroundings ended up there - truck after truck
with tons of trash every day, rats, seagulls, more
trash and me in the middle of it - and i just can not
begin to describe the one big heavy smell that was
a mixture of 150,000 other smells that hung over that
place on a hot summer day, there are no human words
for it You could almost touch and see it, thats how
thick it was

Wow, I'm not the only one who picked "I want to make love to it."

I can't say I haven't taken a whiff of a marker or two in my day. I tend to like unique and strong smells in general, although if you're unlucky sometimes you get one that really rubs you the wrong way and makes you want to throw up.

One particular smell I thought was extremely bad; it was almost indescribable; like years old dirt and sweat or something. I only experienced it in one place; and that was in this old high school gymnasium with some sort of drain in the floor or something covered by this metal lid. Not sure if any of you know what I'm talking about; but it was one of those and I took the lid off and stuck my nose down there because I was curious. Big mistake. Arrrrrrgh so terrible.

Gasoline... whenever we drive to the gas station, I always roll down the window and take a big looong whiff while my fiance is filling up the truck.


I also like the smell of new books, and brand new inner-tubes or beach balls fresh out if its packaging. It has a kind of chemical-plastic-y smell.

Certain kinds of markers smell nice too, but I don't sniff them because even writing with them will make me go light-headed after a few seconds.

I think they used to have xylene in (it's a similar smell). Yes, there are advantages to science, you get to use xylene, and you can *forget* to turn the fume cupboard on......then float home
