They seem to think I don't have my own style, or that my own style is bad and that they have to force their style on me.

Oh, gosh I hate that also.

That's why whenever my birthday or Christmas come around, I always tell everyone I know that I hate receiving clothes as gifts!

But of course, some people don't listen, and I get some awful clothes as a gift anyways. Then I donate them fo goodwill or sell them to consignment shops if they're good enough.

They're mostly just trying to be nice when they do, you could just ask for gift cards for the store you shop at instead so you can get what you want.
