As a generalization, how accurate is the Aspie Quiz?

I don't usually take these sorts of things, but curiosity got the best of me.

I took this a few days ago, if my memory serves me correctly I scored:

158 in Aspie traits

33 in NT

I've got a meeting with a professional on Tuesday, so I'll hopefully be officially diagnosed (or not) sometime in the near future.

What do you guys think?

Valid question, - but don't know how this was created, whether it was normed, so forth.

Which one did you take? I took one that said

Aspie Score 174 out of 200

NT Score 28 out of 200

So far I've asked 7 others to take that quiz and the 1 I knew was Aspie scored even higher than me. The others I believed were NT and they scored very high on the NT part. A couple surprised me with results in the middle.

That's only a random and tiny sampling but it has seemed very accurate to me.

....looking for the link to the quiz......

I don't think it's accurate. My bf has scored aspie on it too but he has brain damage and other learning disabilities and epilepsy. I still score aspie on it despite that I may feel uneffected by my own condition and may feel like I don't have it at all at times.

If the quiz is actually accurate, I would guess you will probably be diagnosed.

I personally got a 168 out of 200 for Aspie traits
(though now that I think about it I think I put the wrong answer to the one question, which would raise my Aspie score)

So my NT score is a 32 (or less by 1 or 2)

My thanks for the replies, If anything I should probably stop looking at internet quizzes and just wait for a professional opinion...

Or do my homework....

I'm diagnosed with Aspergers(Diagnosed like 6-7 years ago in Gr. 3) and I did the Aspie test, and I got like 63 or something close to that in Aspie and it said I was most likely NT.

In my evaluation for diagnosis by a State qualified forensic psychologist the very same Aspie quiz you mention above WAS the test for Asperger's Syndrome. I questioned it (a couple of appointments later) and was told that yes, that is the very same test that was also published online for Wired Magazine, as well, with just a few changes.

I got the very same score at my DX evaluation as when I did it from a link from a WP post years earlier.

My Aspie score was 159 out of 200; NT score 49. But I´m undiagnosed, so I couldn´t tell ya...

I do believe myself to have Residual Asperger´s Syndrome. So if I´m right, the test is accurate.... :)

I think it DOES make the assumption that you don't have anything else that would trigger the right questions. The way you described your boyfriend, he might have just been an odd exception.

Nothing is perfect, I think the rdos test might be about as good as it will get. Rdos DID say he tries to norm it using other tests and samples from people that are KNOWN to have it and not have it. Still, there is certainly room for error, and even HE has said that,

Wouldn't people with other conditions that have the same characteristics as AS score high on the quiz too?

That's why I was saying it's not accurate because symptoms overlap with other conditions.
