I was diagnosed with AS, but I think it's actually PDD-NOS. I was diagnosed with Bipolar I, but I think it's actually just cyclothymia. I was given the Axis II diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder, after the shrink had seen me for a few minutes and barely questioned me and done no tests. I do not have Borderline Personality Disorder! I also doubt I have schizoaffective disorder or schizophrenia, though shrinks have said I had those.

After having about 3 or 4 appointments I was diagnosed as bipolar and mild personality disorder too, and was put on medications that just made it all even worse, so I stopped seeing my therapist.

It was 3 years after that I first came to hear about AS and a nurse only confirmed that there might be the possibility. I was 20 years old at that time. Now, 3 years after first discovering, what I am 98% sure of is my true diagnosis and have sort of come to terms with, I have a new consulting with my doctor later in may/june to try and get all the official papers too. I hope that will help me getting a somewhat decent job..

I believe that I have been misdiagnosed as having "schizoaffective disorder" because I am not psychotic in the least bit! I am NEUROTIC!! ! That alone would exclude the diagnosis of schizoaffective. A pill did make me psychotic, however, it was called Moban. I have no delusions (even though to the outsider it might appear so, and of the so called "bizarre" type) but my whatever you want to call them are true and I know the difference between reality and fantasy. Hallucinations are rare (with the exception of a day here and a day there). I think my real diagnosis is bipolar 2 disorder, ultra rapid cycling. Obviously since its bipolar 2, there are no psychotic features.

I was daignosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder...which i think is accurate if incomplete.
As A child i was daignosed with dyslexia....accurate but incomplete.
Now I have competing diagnosis' from my Psychologist and Psychiatrist of Dyssemia and Asperger's/ADHD. I split the difference and say I am NLD.

Oh, and the worst misdiagnosis was that I was repressing memories of childhood sexual abuse. What an evil empty pit that is. Every male relative becomes a suspect as long as every family friend, talk about an evil way to destroy your faith in family and friends.

I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue when I was 13. I think I was just unhealthy and unmotivated like other kids my age. I may have been depressed too.
I was diagnosed with severe depression after I did an IQ test last year (I didn't make eye contact and had my face to close to the test paper).

I've had a lot of diagnoses, and I can't say for sure which of them are true. The truth does not seem to be 'out there' at all.

Diagnoses (apart from AS):
Depression
Psychosis
Schizotypal Personality Disorder or Schizoid Personality Disorder
Borderline Personality Disorder

My actual diagnosis is Autistic Disorder, and that's only because, at the time, the doctors didn't know what to diagnose me with other than that. It was felt at the time that the two likely things I had were AS of HFA and they couldn't decide between the two. I still haven't had it looked into as yet.

Early Childhood:
First I was severely mentally ret*d.
Then I was emotionally disturbed.
Finally, I was pronounced "autistic."

Early Adulthood:
It was adjustment disorder with depressed mood.
After that, it was borderline personality disorder.
Next came. multiple personality disorder.
Finally, I was diagnosed with autistic disorder.

If I have to go through it all again, there is no telling what I'll be next. Yet, people still wonder why I have little use for the psychiatric industry.

I don't have an official Aspi or like diagnosis, as I'm tiered of seeing psychiatrists and their pills.
I have been diagnosed:
Schizoid Personality Disorder
Schizo-affective
OCD
PTSD
Depression
Borderline pd
Schizophrenia
Anxiety
Non 24-hour sleep disorder

and the nice 'multi (split or whatever) personality' one too. Nice bag of crackers. crunch.

They put me on medication, and that just gets worse. Then I become psychotic, especially on the anti-depression medication.

Social phobia.
Also, this isn't a diagnosis, but my psychiatrist keeps mentioning "avoidant behaviour". I wish he'd learn the difference between avoidant behaviour and having a brain with a faulty "start" button. :x

Borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, schizoaffectiv disorder and schizophrenia. Mental health professionals doesn't seem to know what they are doing. Luckely all of these diagnoses were removed when my autism was discovered.
