I would vote for Mr. Obama if he would publically promise to direct the Attorney General to prosecute everyone involved in deciding to start this stupid Iraq war - including the current president and anyone else who lied about the reasons for invading.

I'd give Obama a D and McCain an F. Obama wins out—he's WAY too right-wing still and only seems to be getting worse, but under his rule at least matters will be less terrible.

If Clinton likes Obama, I like Obama.
My friend's against him though, 'cause she's against abortion.

If you watch the ads for McCain he shows no plans on anything they are saying about him along with the fact he has been flip-flop on Bush's Taxes Bills. Obama at least shows that he willing to promote free trade which is a very good thing and shows his plans to do stuff plus they aren't very negative while McCain are very negative in a way.

there has been a non abortion president in the White House for 8 years, and a non abortion Congress and Senate . . . it didn't seem to change the abortion laws at all.

Honestly I don't really care for either of them. If I had to chose one, it would probably be Obama, but not by much...

just watched Obama's acceptance speech and counted 29 different policies mentioned and every shot from McCain's camp answered.

wow. the sheer efficiency of it impresses me. and when he said 'It's not that John McCain doesn't care, it's just that he doesn't get it!

Obama. Though his stance on abortion bothers me (I'm pro-choice but PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION? who the hell would do that?), he seems genuine and honest. McCain is just making a fool of himself by picking someone for VP who doesn't know what she's talking about - it's like he's trying to steal all of Hilary's supporters because, well, she's a woman. He also seems too defensive, his campaign seems to focus on pointing out the flaws of his opponents more than showing what he himself can do to make a difference.

the mere fact that the Giget and Geezer show is playing in St. Paul makes my stomach turn. I agree with Michael Moore that when they run the RNC convention on the TV split screen with Hurricane Gustav, people will remember Katrina.

they don't learn. One wonders how many and which lies they are going to come up with when they will bomb Iran, which is planned within the coming weeks. They found no mass destruciton weapons in Iraq, now they're going to find them in Iran???

Just to add about the promises of any president, they aren't usually in control of everything. You have to think about other people who play a huge part behind these legislations and policies like the senates.

As a people, we also have to reflect what's really going on instead of just relying on a president who we subconscisously see as imperial when really he's just a guy who wants power. Not trying to down the presidency but they don't have all the control we think they do.

I think JFK's quote really explains it well when wanting a change in this country: Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.

Don't want to come across as belittling the U.S. but all this war has now come to one thing and that's are "need" for oil.

I have to ask, are we really progressing or becoming more dependent. A country that used to produce and manufacture their own products is now depended on other countries. I wonder how much debt we will be in in the future since we haven't done enough production but consuming...

America was never independent...it needed tungsten, aluminum from South America and still does to build its aircraft. Oil, gas adn silver, uranium form the same continent, hence they have a hand in regimes down there and now they will Use Brazil for Bio fuel plantations

^I'm really talking about our problem now which is the dependecy on fossil fuel which will not last long not to mention do as it already has done damages to the ozone.

Much of this started around the Industrial Age which wasn't that long ago when you think about it which was really started it's course around the 19th century and thus progressed from there.
