As far as I'm concerned, I view the word retard in a similar manner to the "N" word. Black people use the latter all the time when communicating with each other and it's perfectly fine, but a white person uses it and suddenly it's a slur. Likewise, I'll use retard when talking about myself...

I also have Andrea Libman's (the voice of Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie) autograph on my Fluttershy DVD from when I saw her at the final BronyCon as well as a picture with her and a personalized voice recording of both Flutters and Pinkie that I still listen to religiously to this day.
